This week we had a special treat...the Missionaries came and talked to us about families. They taught us how important our families are and they showed us how we can become closer to our family members by becoming closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus. They taught us about how our Eternal Family begins with temple marriage and they encouraged us to strive for that goal. They also encouraged us to try our best to make our homes like the temple, a sacred place to be, and they challenged us to do something kind for another member of our family this week. It is always a great day when the missionaries come and share their knowledge of the Gospel with us!

Sunday, May 18 Sharing Time
Today in Primary we talked about our families and how we each have a special role to play in creating a Happy Family here on earth. Our Fathers are our spiritual leaders, priesthood holders, and our protectors. They work hard to make sure we have a home to live in, food to eat, and clothes to wear. We talked about the role of Mother and how important it is. She helps bring Heavenly Father's spirit children to earth and loves and nurtures them. She makes sure that we know we are loved and have a safe, happy place to be when we come into our homes! The roles of children, both boys and girls, are that of spiritual helpers in the home, workers, cheerleaders, peacemakers, and troupers that can endure to the end to be examples of Christlike behaviors towards each other. We love our families and we know that if we work together to do our best to fulfill the roles Heavenly Father has set out for us, we can have a Happy Family!

Sunday, May 11 Sharing Time
Then, we made some really cute bouquets of flowers for our Moms for Mother's Day and attached a poem that says:
The family
is like a garden
with joy
for all to share,
With tender, growing blossoms
that thrive on love
and care,
And when
the flowers are gathered
for a very special day,
They make
a bright and beautiful
happiness bouquet.

Sunday, May 4 Sharing Time
Today Brother Caress showed us a movie about Nephi and his Brothers and how they fought against each other. Nephi wanted to do as his father asked him to do because he understood that his father was actually speaking for the Lord. Laman and Lemuel were afraid, greedy, and disobedient. They did not want to go back for the plates of brass and they especially did not want to pay Laban for them. After escaping from Jerusalem, they fought until an angel of the Lord came down and told them to stop. We decided that it is always best to follow Nephi's example and do as our parents and the Lord would want us to do!
