This week we talked and sang about what we would do if the Savior was standing right beside us. Maybe visiting us at school, or at home, or even checking out our neighborhoods that we live in! Would we make the same choices, or would we change our behavior to be more pleasing to Jesus? We decided that we would be "Happy" if Jesus came and knocked on our door at home, but that we might be just a little embarrassed if our bedroom was messy! We also thought that if we could take Jesus anywhere in our neighborhood, we would take him to the park, to play with us on the swings, slides, or even play some baseball with us! If Jesus went on a family trip in the car with us, we would probably play fun car games, but fight with our brothers and sisters a lot less! At school, we would still listen to our teachers and do our best to learn, but maybe be a little nicer on the playground. Sister Guenther encouraged us to think about and try to always act as if the Savior was standing right beside us enjoying the wonderful things in our lives and helping us choose the right when we are tempted to make a mistake.

Sunday, March 16 Sharing Time
This week, Sister Donaldson taught us the most important story ever told...The Story of Easter...using Easter eggs. There was a hint to each part of the Easter Story hidden inside of each egg. We found thorns inside one egg and she taught us that Jesus was mistreated and was made to wear a crown made of thorns! We all agreed that would not be something we would like to happen to us! Inside of another egg were some very good smelling spices and she taught us that after Jesus was crucified, His friends and loved ones cleaned His body and wrapped Him in linen and covered Him in aromatic spices to make Him smell good. The very last egg was a golden egg. Can you guess what was inside? Nothing! There was nothing inside the last egg to teach us that after 3 days, there was also nothing inside the tomb where Christ was placed after his death because he had risen and was alive again! Sister Donaldson encouraged all of us to enjoy this Easter season and let the pretty colored eggs remind us of what we found inside of them in Primary today, so that we can remember the story of Jesus and his crucifixion and most importantly his Resurrection. He did a wonderful thing for us, so that we could also be resurrected and return to live with our Heavenly Father again someday!
To help make Easter extra special this year, Sister Donaldson gave us a bookmark with important scriptures for each day of this week so that we can read about everything that Jesus did in the week before his Resurrection:

Sunday, March 9 Sharing Time
HE'S OUR PROPHET
This week in Sharing Time, Sister Donaldson taught us all many new and interesting things about our new Prophet, President Monson.
We learned that as a boy, it was important to him to be kind to others and to respect his parents, and that he loved to fish. We also learned that when he wanted to propose to his wife, his little brother blurted out the surprise before he had a chance! President Monson also served our country in the Navy. President Monson was ordained an Apostle and called to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on October 4, 1963, at the age of 36 and has been serving us well ever since.
We just know that as we learn more about our new Prophet that we will learn much from him and grow to love him and follow his direction as he is guided by our Heavenly Father.

March Board Newsletter
Dear Teachers...
As our lives get busier and busier it gets harder and harder to meet together as a Primary Board. We realize any time that you might have that isn’t already scheduled is precious, and you’d much rather spend this time with your families. We know what it’s like to try and fit laundry, dinner, homework, baseball practice, and bath time between the hours of 5 and 8 each night.
As you know our theme for this year is “I’m a Child of God”. The talks and Sharing Times will focus on this theme throughout the year, preparing us for the Primary Program in the fall. With this in mind we are going to be Spotlighting a child each week. This will give all of us an opportunity to know a little bit more about them; their likes and dislikes and the fun things that make them special.
We all have children on our rolls that never attend Church and are inactive because their parents are inactive. After listening to Brother Lopez’ talk on Sunday it was such a powerful reminder of how important one young child can be to their families. Just a note addressed to one of these children may be all that is needed to spark that interest. Maybe you can let them know about a special lesson coming up, or send them a birthday card. Some of these children might be in the same school as others in your class, giving them an opportunity to learn about fellowshipping. Please let us know who you are focusing on. This will allow the Bishopric and the other auxiliaries to become involved as well.
As we prepare our Primary room each week for Opening Exercises it’s not always easy to arrange the chairs, set up the tables and gather the children for prayer, scripture and talks. Sometime our reverence will suffer. You, as teachers, are so vital to the reverence in Primary. It’s so important that you are there for the children as they come in and take their seat. This example will go much further than anything that we might say. Please make a special effort to be sitting with your classes to help them remember where they are and to take the roll each week. The children really do panic when their teacher is even a few minutes late!
A special thank you to those of you who have been teaching not only your classes but jumping in and covering other classes as well these last few weeks. We never quite know what each Sunday will bring and to have you help out with just a minutes notice is a blessing! Thank you…
